The Youth Exchange was hosted by Association Focus on Youth, Romania with participation of another three organizations; Desert Bloom, Jordan, Human Rights Research Center, Georgie and Youth Empowerment Center, Greece. Under Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The exchange took place between 15th and 24th of October in the city of Ramnicu Valcea in Romania.
The 28 participants were selected from different cultural backgrounds and some of them suffered from different types of discrimination including ethnic discrimination, islamopohobia, social exclusion or marginalization due to fewer opportunities in life.
The participants had a chance to look deeper into themselves and understand their individuality as human beings. The workshops, discussions and other non-formal education activities enabled participants to learn about the diversity in the world, share their experiences and get to know each other. To help to understand the problem of intolerance and prejudices, part of the workshops also included participants’ presentations about the propaganda influences related to minorities in their communities. Everyone also had a chance to take part in the intercultural event to show and promote their countries through food, clothes, dance and video materials.
