Mamoun Khreisat, URI-MENA Regional Coordinator, was honored to participate as a panelist in the Anna Lindh Foundation’s Multi-Stakeholder Policy Debate on “Protecting Pluralism in Euro-Mediterranean Societies: A complementary bottom-up approach” held at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels. During the session on “Rightsizing the Role of Religion in Regional Affairs,” Mamoun shared his experiences in interfaith work, drawing from his involvement with URI. He also engaged in a thought-provoking discussion focused on developing strategies and practical approaches to address misunderstandings about religion’s role in community tensions and polarization.
The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), in collaboration with the European External Action Service (EEAS/SG.STRAT) and with the support of the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), convened a multi-stakeholder dialogue on protecting and promoting pluralism in Euro-Mediterranean societies. This initiative brought together youth representatives, institutional representatives, civil society Organisations, practitioners, academia, and community leaders in open discussions to innovate the protection and promotion of pluralism and diversity in Euro-Mediterranean societies.
