Hello, my name is Marlene, I am twenty-two years old and I am from Germany. I just started my internship at Desert Bloom and URI MENA at the beginning of March. As being a part of URI MENA for the next four months, I would like to tell you a little more about myself:
I’m studying social work in Darmstadt with a focus on migration and globalization, but currently living in Amman, Jordan, where an internship is part of my studies. I have always been interested in intercultural exchanges and experiencing daily life in other countries which is why I volunteered at a grammar school in Kumasi, Ghana after finishing school. I personally believe that bringing religions together helps to end religiously motivated violence and that the different religions actually have a lot in common in terms of the most important values.
I am thankful to learn from such a large interfaith network and get the possibility to support the work from URI MENA.
